As promised here’s the next installment of books. This week’s books are probably for the 5 and up age bracket but there lovely stories we enjoy reading to little miss.
First up is a firm favorite I can honestly say we will be reading for years. The littlest raindrop by JoannaGray.
This is a beautiful educational story that explains water cycle from the perspective of a raidrop. You join on the adventure from cloud to earth and back again and has the most beautiful illustrations. It’s great for reading to wee ones but would also be wonderful for solo reading. I just love that although it’s educational it’s a great story and not pushy in teaching kids something. I look forward to more from this author.
Our next book has an environmental message. Tidy by Emily Gravett is a wonderful book that explains the importance of keeping woodlands tidy and the dangers of losing our forests.
You follow a badger called Pete and his obsession with keeping things tidy, but gradually he gets out of hand and doesn’t quite know when to stop. There’s alot of fun in this book whilst also touching on an important issue and it has the most wonderful pictures and cutouts. This would be a great book for those who are confident in solo reading but otherwise makes for a wonderful story for everyone.
Finally we have a story about love. Love monster by Rachel Bright is a story that basically explains how there’s someone for everyone in this world.
This story follows a little monster (who I think is adorable) and his quest to find someone to love. It shows that everyone deserves live and it can be found in the unlikeliest of places.
That’s it for this week, if you’ve read any of these books before please let me know what you thought if them. If you end up getting them I hope you love them as much as we do.
Love and hugs,
Hayleigh xo
