This week is all about the silly books. We have been having fun reading books about pants, poop and belching, because let’s face it, no matter your age something’s are just funny. It seems this week’s picks loosely follow the space theme as either or characters have come Frome space or end up there. So here goes, time for some books.
First up we have aliens love underpants by Clair Freedman and Ben Cort.
Here we have a book that has writing that’s just as perfectly colourful and fun as the images inside. It’s a story about aliens coming to earth, not to take over or cause chaos but to steal underpants. There’s lots of fun, lots of rhyming and LOTS of giggles. It’s a great bedtime read but equally a fun book for those learning to read alone.
Next up we have The dinosaur that pooped a planet by Tom Fletcher and Dougie Poynter
A fun book about a boy called Danny and his dinosaur, this time they are in an adventure to space. With nothing for lunch though, the dinosaur starts eating Everything he sees including their only way home! So in true Tom and Dougie fashion they then joyfully describe how what goes in must come out. And as expected the dinosaur poops a planet. Great fun, great illustration and a great laugh for all ages.
Finally we have Marvin wanted more by Joseph Theobald
This is a story about a very hungry sheep who just cannot stop eating. Eventually he finds he has eaten the entire planet and is all alone. There’s only one way he can get all his friends and favourite scenery back. He is sick! A fun story perfect for family reading or for those reading alone.
So as always, if you have read these books before please let me know what you thought of them. And if you know a little boy or girl who likes all things silly, please do get them one of these to read.
Love and hugs,
